May 2, 2011 was our 3rd Anniversary! I can't believe it. It has been three incredible years; we have had so much fun. I can honestly say that every year we're together is better than the last.
This past weekend we went out to Phoenix for a little getaway and to see some family and friends. We stayed at this hotel that looked INCREDIBLE online but when we got there it was.... not so incredible. It was basically just a really old hotel that someone redecorated to make it look all modern. At first I was totally bummed but it actually really grew on me by the end of the trip. It may not have been in the best part of town or have the fanciest rooms, but the bed was super comfortable and the pool was super nice and fun. (the things that really matter right?) My favorite thing it the world is relaxing at the pool. I love the heat of the sun on my skin even when it starts to burn. I just can't explain it, but I absolutely love it. I wish I didn't though, because I know it is not healthy and I'm already starting to get wrinkles and sun spots. If I follow in my mother's footsteps and end up getting skin cancer one of these days, I'm sure no one will be surprised. James was really great to endure an ENTIRE day at the pool with me even though he does not enjoy getting sun burnt... we made a trip to the store to buy some sun block for him but I'm afraid it was too late. :( He is so nice. Not only did he endure the sun, but he also endured the shopping! We went to Last Chance (where the clothes go after Nordstrom's and Nordstrom Rack) a place I have been dying to shop at for such a long time. Unfortunately we decided to go on Saturday and it was the busiest, most crowded store I have ever been to in my whole lifetime. I was so overwhelmed I could not even stay. After quickly rummaging through a few racks of clothes and shelves of shoes I just had to get out of there. I was disappointed and depressed that I wasn't able to find anything awesome so we decided to go back on Monday before we left to try again. It was still VERY crowded but I managed to find two pairs of AWESOME shoes, so it was all worth it. James even got a couple of shirts so he enjoyed it too. He seriously didn't complain once about shopping, which totally shocked pleasantly surprised me. It was great!
We got to hang out with our friends Jimmy and Haylee a couple of times too while we were there. The first night they came to our awesome hotel and we chilled in the hot tub (where we had an interesting encounter with Good Charlotte - not kidding - they were staying at our hotel...they must have been duped by the deceiving website too!) and then we went to breakfast with them on Monday near their apartment. It was really fun to see them. Thanks for hanging out with us you guys!
And last but certainly not least, we got to meet one of our new little nieces, Eva Ann Nixon who is 1 month old! She is soooo sweet. And even though she slept through both of our visits, we still got to hold her and we loved it. :) We can't wait to see her again in a couple of months at Family Camp!! :)
Here are some pictures from the trip...

We loved that you came! You should come every weekend! We can find you another hotel in a scary neighborhood- there's plenty to choose from here! Or you can just stay at our place- it'll be just as scary, crappier, and plus it smells like smoke! Can't wait- bet you can't either!- But next time, we'll hang out more
