About to Pop

So, I feel like I forgot how to blog.  It's been a while.  We have lots of updating to do.  Stay tuned for some updates on our new house, and many fun projects we've done over the last few months, including the nursery.  I promise I will get to it all eventually.

For now, though, I thought I should post some pregnancy photos before I'm not pregnant anymore and we have something better, and hopefully much cuter to blog about...

Bare belly shot...
You know you're close when your maternity clothes barely fit.
So my pregnancy was pretty much a breeze up until about the last couple weeks.  One day last week at work, I walked with some friends to lunch a few blocks away from our office.  I started having a lot of contractions really close together and some pain that I hadn't experienced before.  (Before then, I had been having the braxton-hicks contractions for quite some time, they had just been random and uncomfortable, not painful.)  I decided to call my doctor and see if I could come in and be checked.  Once I got there they checked me out.  I was 75% effaced, but not dilated at all.  They sent me to the hospital where they monitored me for about 6 hours and gave me some medication to relax my uterus and hopefully slow the contractions.
It worked to space the contractions out a bit and so they just sent me home and told me to basically do nothing (which is kind of awesome and kind of sucky, since I feel like I have SO much more to do before she comes - luckily James has been picking up a lot of my slack and my sister came to help me organize the nursery last weekend, which was so incredibly helpful, too).  So now I am just trying to keep track of the contractions because if I have more than 6 in one hour they want to reevaluate things and I may not be able to go to work.  So far things haven't gotten any worse, but I have a feeling this little girl isn't going to wait 4 more weeks.  We'll see.  We can't wait to meet her!
