I'm a Mormon

I was inspired by the 'Our People' stories on Mormon dot org this morning so I thought I would to a little 'I'm a Mormon' story of my own:

I was born in Utah where my family lived for about 10 years before they decided to move to Colorado for my dad's job at the time.  I was the new kid in school for a while but then I made some friends and it wasn't long before I wanted to call Colorado home.  I went to Arvada West High School where I played a little softball, joined Student Government and was elected to be the Student Body President (I am obviously still so proud of this accomplishment).

I graduated High School and applied for college.  After a short summer of working and trying to save money I was off for my freshman year at Brigham Young University (BYU).  Lets just say it's a good thing I got in because it was the only  school that I applied to.  I guess I just had my sights set.

Long story short, I got a BA in Mass Communications for a number of reasons but mostly because I didn't get accepted to my first couple of choices, and it took me a while to make up my mind.  Luckily Communications was a smaller (shorter) load of courses.

A week after graduation in Utah, I got married to James back here in good old Colorado.  (Thanks again to everyone who traveled out to Colorado for the wedding.  I swear I wrote thank you cards but I lost them when we moved to Tennessee after the wedding and never sent them out.) (It's still weird to think that we lived in Nashville for a while.)  Anyway, its been almost 3 years since then.  We've bought a house and a dog and are excited to start our own family.

I keep a blog because for some reason it's easier for me than keeping a journal.  I want to start actually WRITING more but it's going to take some work for me to be okay sharing the good and the bad and the feelings that come with it.  Wish me luck.

I am 25 years old, I work for an insurance company, I recently cut off all of my hair (planning to do a post about this eventually), I love traveling, music, fashion and sunshine.  I like to rock climb with James who is the most amazingly hard working husband that I love.  I have an awesome family.  I hope to be a better person every day, and one day be a mother.  I have big hopes and dreams and a gigantic list of ideas, I am really excited about the future and I love that I'm a Mormon.
